1. Choose your target language
Open Settings and find Translate to. Open the language picker, search by language name or code, select the language and save it. This target is shared by ordinary dictation and the translation shortcut.
2. Enable translation for ordinary dictation
Under Dictation in Settings, turn Translate on. Leave Clean up text off for Direct translation, or turn it on for Polished translation. These choices apply to your next recording. You can also change them from the capsule menu.
3. Or set a separate translation shortcut
Find Translation shortcut in Settings, choose a shortcut that is available and enable it. Choose its Clean up text setting independently. Use the combination shown in the app to start a new translation recording; it does not translate selected text.
Ordinary dictation keeps its own Translate and Clean up text settings. To keep it in the original language, leave its Translate control off.
4. Record, stop and review
Focus a compatible text field and use the shortcut for the option you chose. With Live transcript on, the capsule preview shows your original recognized words. Stop recording to prepare the translated result, then review it in the text field. Copy and paste if automatic insertion is unavailable.
Recognition and translation require an internet connection, a signed-in account and remaining usage allowance. Check names, numbers and meaning before sending the text.
5. Translate a saved passage later
Open History, find a voice record and choose Translate or Translate again in More actions. This needs the saved original transcript; you can choose a target and translation mode for that operation, and previous versions remain available.
