Who is responsible
Whispek is operated by DING XU (丁旭), an individual developer based in China. This policy covers the Whispek website, account services and desktop application. For questions about your personal information or to make a data request, contact [email protected].
What stays on your computer
Voice history stores your recordings, transcripts and cleaned text on this computer. Quick Ask stores conversations, drafts and references in a local database. Local history is not a cloud backup, and signing in on another computer does not transfer it.
What is sent for processing
Voice recognition sends your recorded speech to Whispek’s service and its speech-processing service. Text cleanup sends the text needed to prepare your result. When you send a Quick Ask question, the messages and references needed for that answer are sent to the processing service.
Whispek’s service does not save Quick Ask conversation bodies. The processing service handles submitted content under its own data policies. Saving a conversation locally does not mean the answer was generated offline.
Your dictionary and account
Your personal dictionary belongs to your account. Cloud learning is enabled by default and can send dictated or inserted text, edit differences, application name and session metadata to suggest dictionary entries; you can turn it off in dictionary settings. Turning it off prevents new learning fragments from being uploaded. You can also add and manage entries yourself.
Sign-in, device sessions, service usage and billing require account and operational records. These records are separate from your local voice and chat history.
Account, payment and support information
Account services process your email address, login credentials or verification information, device and session identifiers, and usage records to sign you in, protect your account and apply your allowance. If you contact support, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you choose to send. Please do not email passwords, payment card details or unrelated private content.
Paid checkout uses Waffo Pancake’s hosted payment process. Whispek receives the order and subscription information needed to apply your plan, such as the amount, currency and payment status; the Whispek checkout flow does not collect full card numbers.
Browser storage and service diagnostics
The website stores a device identifier and your chosen display-language preference in browser storage. Web login session credentials are held in session storage. Language preferences apply only to this website and are not used for cross-site tracking. When no language has been chosen, the home entry and account pages without an explicit language use the browser’s preferred languages, with English as the fallback. Public pages keep separate English and /zh/ URLs, and account links can specify a lang parameter. Clearing website storage may sign you out, reset the device identifier and return language selection to the browser default.
Operational records can include request identifiers, processing outcomes, timing, client version and platform. A delivery receipt records whether an action completed; it is separate from the recording, transcript or answer. These records support reliability, account security, usage accounting and investigation of failed requests.
Service providers and processing locations
Alibaba Cloud provides the speech-processing integration and email services; cloud infrastructure used by Whispek includes Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud and Cloudflare. Language-model requests are sent to the processing service configured for the feature. Waffo Pancake provides hosted payment processing. These providers process the information needed for their respective roles.
Service infrastructure includes China and the United States, and speech processing can involve Singapore. Selecting a website language does not select a data-processing country. Do not submit information subject to a particular residency requirement without first checking whether we can meet it. We do not claim that specific cross-border contracts, certifications or provider retention guarantees have been verified by this page.
Requests about your data
Contact [email protected] to request access, correction, deletion or export of your account data, or to raise an objection or withdraw consent where applicable. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you. Requests are handled under applicable law, including any required retention of transaction or security records. The product does not currently offer a complete self-service account deletion or cloud-data export flow.
Deleting local history and revoking a device session have different effects: revoking a session does not remotely erase that device’s local files. You may also raise privacy concerns with the competent authority in your jurisdiction.
Age requirements
Whispek is available to users aged 14 or older. Users below the age of majority must obtain their parent or legal guardian’s consent before using the service. If local law requires a higher minimum age or additional authorization, those requirements apply. We do not offer the service to children under 14. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 14 has provided personal information should contact [email protected] so we can investigate and handle deletion under applicable law.
Retention and your choices
You can delete local history, change the voice-history limit and manage dictionary learning. Deleting a local record does not recall content already sent for processing or erase account and usage records.
We do not publish a blanket zero-retention or no-training promise covering every provider. Local voice history keeps up to 50 records by default, with configurable count limits or indefinite retention; older entries are removed when that count is exceeded. Assistant conversations are managed separately. Account information is retained while the account remains active. After account closure, non-essential account data is deleted within 30 days. Support emails are retained for no more than one year after the issue is closed. Records that must be retained for legal, transaction, security or dispute purposes are excluded from that deletion deadline and are retained only as necessary for the applicable purpose or legal requirement. Third-party providers apply their own retention policies. Account closure and data requests are handled through [email protected]; these rules do not mean that uninstalling the app automatically deletes an account.
