Current release: 0.1.11
The published download is a Windows x64 .exe installer. Install it, open Whispek and sign in. Check the changelog for the latest published changes.
- Platform: Windows, x64 installer.
- Desktop interface: English and Simplified Chinese.
- English dictation: supported.
- Microphone and internet access: required for voice input.
- Account and available usage allowance: required for cloud features.
Choose your display language
Choose English, Simplified Chinese or Automatic on the sign-in screen or in Settings → General → Display language. A saved manual choice takes priority. Automatic checks the system language list in order, uses the first supported English or Chinese language, and falls back to English if none is supported.
Display language and speech recognition language are independent. The website remembers its own language preference.
Your first minute in the app
Open a simple text field and check the voice shortcut displayed on the home screen. The default is Right Alt. Start a short recording, say a sentence and stop. Review the inserted text before trying it in an important document.
If setup does not go as expected
Check the selected microphone and Windows microphone permissions. If the shortcut conflicts with another app, choose another binding in settings. If text is recognized but not inserted, use the available result and paste it into the intended field.
Know the language and privacy boundaries
Display language and speech recognition language are independent. Changing the interface does not change which language you dictate. Voice recognition, cleanup and assistant answers run through cloud services; local history is stored on this computer. Read the privacy guide before using sensitive content.
