Be specific about the Dragon product
This page refers to Dragon Professional desktop dictation, not Dragon’s other industry or cloud products. The official Professional page describes Windows dictation and transcription of existing recordings. Requirements and capabilities differ by edition.
Dictation and voice commands are different requirements
Dragon Professional help documents text dictation, voice commands and Auto-Text commands. Whispek prepares written text and offers a separate AI assistant; it is not a voice command system for controlling desktop applications.

When Whispek Free fits
For emails, notes, work messages and detailed AI prompts, you can use Whispek’s core tools without buying a subscription. Dictation, cleanup, personal dictionary, local history and the separate assistant share the available weekly allowance.
Use normal names and terminology in your own words, then review the draft. Add recurring names to the dictionary. If a field cannot receive direct insertion, copy and paste the available text.
Keep an established command or specialist workflow when needed
If your work depends on Dragon commands, templates or a particular supported application, check the edition-specific documentation before changing tools. A general dictation app does not automatically reproduce those behaviours.
